The Vortex Venom 1-6x24 Scope and Mount Combo takes the guesswork out of setting up a low-power variable optic. You get the Venom 1-6x24 SFP scope already paired with a matched Sport cantilever mount, torqued, aligned and ready to zero straight from the box. For anyone building a straight-pull AR, a gallery rifle or a rimfire carbine, that saves the usual hunt for the right rings at the right height.

The appeal of a 1-6x optic is range. At true 1x, with both eyes open, it behaves like a red dot for fast, close work. Wind it up to 6x and there's enough magnification for deliberate shots further out. The 30mm tube runs a 24mm objective, 3.7 inches of eye relief and a wide 126-foot field of view at 1x, measured at 100 yards, so getting on target is quick.

At the centre is the illuminated, glass-etched AR-BDC3 reticle. It's tuned to the ballistics of standard 5.56 loads, with a 1 MOA centre dot for precision, a 16.625 MOA broken circle that pulls your eye to the middle fast, and bracketed holdovers stretching to around 650 yards. Turrets move in 1/4 MOA clicks with 140 MOA of travel, and the reticle sits in the second focal plane, so it stays a constant size at every magnification.

The Venom build quality is all present: XD glass, fully multi-coated lenses, ArmorTek scratch resistance, a single-piece aircraft-grade aluminium body, and waterproof, fogproof, shockproof sealing. A throw lever, sunshade, flip caps and CR2032 battery are included. Backed by the no-questions VIP lifetime warranty, it's a capable one-optic answer for practical and sporting rifle shooters.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's included in the Vortex Venom scope and mount combo?

You get the Venom 1-6x24 SFP riflescope and a matched Vortex Sport cantilever mount (30mm rings, 2 inch offset), supplied pre-assembled and ready to zero. Also in the box: a throw lever, sunshade, flip-up lens caps, a lens cloth, a CR2032 battery, and the mounting hardware and Torx tools.

What is an LPVO, and who is a 1-6x24 for?

LPVO stands for low-power variable optic, a scope with a true 1x setting at the bottom of its range. At 1x with both eyes open it works like a red dot for fast close-range shooting. Zoom to 6x and you get the precision of a magnified scope for mid-range work. It suits straight-pull AR-platform rifles, gallery rifles, rimfire carbines and practical shooting.

What is the AR-BDC3 reticle calibrated for?

The illuminated AR-BDC3 is glass-etched and tuned to the trajectory of standard 5.56/.223 loads from a carbine barrel. The 1 MOA centre dot gives a precise aiming point, the broken circle around it speeds up acquisition at 1x, and the bracketed holdovers extend to around 650 yards. Treat the holdovers as a strong starting point and confirm them against your own load and barrel.
