The real original Winchester has arrived. Black Walnut straight grip stock, polished brass receiver, blued steel, a folding ladder rear sight and Marble Arms gold bead front sight are also included for fast target acquisition. If any rifle defines the 19th century, this is it.
Nicknamed “Yellow Boy” because of its bright brass receiver, the Model 1866 Short Rifle is built for cowboy action competitors, hunters, casual shooters and anybody who wants to spend a day at the range with a real lever-action classic.
This remarkable rifle starts with walnut straight grip stock with a satin oil finish that’s velvet smooth to the touch. Features a classic rifle-style forearm with forearm cap for the legendary look and feel of the original Model 1866.
Sporting a 20" barrel, the rifle includes several important improvements designed by the former Winchester factory manager Nelson King. These improvements included a closed magazine tube, a right-side loading gate and a wooden forearm.
